Non-exchange studies
It is also possible to come to Stockholm as a non-exchange student. In practice, this means that you apply to a programme or a course on exactly the same conditions as a student from Sweden. It is your own responsibility to find out about the rules for the programme or course, how to apply for it, to find somewhere to live, etc. Please note that not all universities accept applications from individual "free-movers" - some universities only accept students from their partner universities. Contact the university you are interested in and ask about their requirements before sending in your application. Naturally, it is a greater challenge to come here as a non-exchange student, but it also gives you completely different possibilities, as you gain full access to the entire range of higher education in Stockholm without being restricted by any agreements that your home university happens to have.
